Yoshio Garcia, a young man, bicycle commuting to his job as a mechanic at Coates Cyclery is at Arrowhead Community Hospital, and according to the latest report, remains in a coma, with severe injuries.

As reported in Friday’s Dailey Bulletin; “A 24- year old man riding a bicycle was seriously injured Thursday when he was hit by a vehicle at an Ontario intersection authorities said. The man (Yoshio Garcia) was wearing a helmet said police Officer Craig Ansman.

About 5:10 a.m., the man on the bike was going north on Etiwanda Avenue approaching Airport Drive, where there was a vehicle stopped in the left-turn land, about to turn onto Airport.

The bike ride went around the vehicle to make a left turn and was struck by a pick up truck going south on Etiwanda.

The man on the bike had major head trauma and was taken to a hospital, Ansman said.

Police said the traffic collision was the bicyclist’s fault for failing to stop at a red arrow.
